Trading Operations Specialist
Job Description
The backbone of financial markets, trading operations, demands meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of post-trade processes. Your expertise as a Trading Operations Specialist will be critical in training AI to comprehend and manage the intricate workflows of trade settlement, clearing, and operational risk, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed training data covering the entire trade lifecycle, from execution to settlement and reconciliation, for various asset classes (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives).
Develop scenarios and questions related to trade matching, confirmation, clearing house functions, and custodian services.
review and evaluate AI-generated explanations of operational procedures, regulatory requirements (e.g., T+2 settlement, EMIR, Dodd-Frank), and industry standards.
Provide expert feedback on AI's ability to identify and mitigate operational risks, including settlement failures, data discrepancies, and fraud.
Craft examples illustrating the impact of corporate actions (e.g., dividends, splits) on trade operations and record-keeping.
Stay updated on evolving market infrastructures, blockchain applications in post-trade, and regulatory changes affecting trading operations.
Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in trading operations, back-office, or middle-office roles at a financial institution.
In-depth knowledge of trade settlement processes (e.g., DTC, Euroclear), clearing mechanisms, and reconciliation procedures.
Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, FIX protocol, and other industry communication standards.
Understanding of operational risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance in post-trade.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to articulate complex workflows clearly.
