Compensation Architecture & Equity Program Adviser
Job Description
IXO is seeking experienced rewards practitioners for paid expert conversations about practical compensation and equity-design questions. Each engagement focuses on a defined issue and draws on decisions you have implemented in professional practice.
Depth in either compensation architecture or equity program management is sufficient. Applicants do not need expertise across both tracks.
Compensation architecture track
Relevant experience includes building salary bands, role levels and job architecture; running compensation cycles covering merit increases, promotions, bonuses and equity refreshes; choosing defensible compensation benchmarks; and presenting those choices to senior decision-makers. Experience designing incentives that are understandable and influence behavior is also relevant.
Equity program track
Relevant experience includes designing stock-option or restricted-stock-unit programs, setting grant guidelines, planning an equity pool and defining vesting and refresh approaches. You should be able to draw on practical work with 409A valuations, plan governance and grant administration at a venture-backed company. Modeling equity value and explaining it to candidates or employees are also part of this track.
The consultation will explore a live question within the area where you have demonstrated depth. Explain the choices you made, the considerations behind them and the trade-offs a decision-maker should understand. Do not disclose confidential details of a former employer's compensation arrangements.
Additional useful experience
Broader knowledge of rewards philosophy, benchmarking methods, pay equity, pay transparency, global or contractor compensation, benefits, HRIS and compensation tools, executive rewards, governance or IPO preparation is welcome. These are optional strengths, not an additional eligibility checklist.
How the engagement works
A short screen establishes relevant experience before an invitation to the paid conversation. Compensation is $55 • $210/hr USD, based on the depth and relevance of experience. A few hours focused on one question is an indicative scope; IXO will agree the topic, rate and timing before work.
Payment for the agreed consultation does not depend on receiving further work. Later engagements are not guaranteed. Use generalized, non-confidential examples and never share private employee pay, employer records, cap tables or proprietary compensation data.
