Technical Writer
Job Description
Create and assess documentation that explains technical systems clearly and accurately.
What you will do
• Review generated API references, guides, manuals and release notes for correctness and organization.
• Write expert examples drawn from documentation you know how to produce.
• Compare and label alternative explanations using documentation standards.
• Identify gaps that would prevent a reader from using the system successfully.
Required background
• At least 2 years of professional technical writing.
• A portfolio of documentation you owned, such as API references, guides, manuals or release notes.
• Ability to explain complex technical behavior accurately and accessibly.
Preferred background
• Developer, software or API documentation experience.
• Markdown, Git and static-site tools used in documentation workflows.
• An STC credential or a relevant technical degree.
Location and eligibility

Availability
• Remote asynchronous hourly work; availability is agreed before starting.
Pay and engagement
$71/hr
USD hourly compensation. The applicable rate and agreed work scope are confirmed before work begins.
