SQL and Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Create SQL and data-modeling evaluations that test whether answers are correct and efficient, rather than merely plausible.
What you will do
• Build analytical cases progressing from raw tables to tested data models.
• Write reference queries with explanations of modeling and query decisions.
• Assess generated SQL for correct results and reasonable warehouse costs.
• Find misleading aggregations, invalid joins and expensive execution choices.
Required background
• At least 2 years of professional analytics engineering or SQL-intensive analytics.
• Expert joins, window functions, CTEs and query optimization.
• Hands-on BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or comparable warehouse work.
• Clear written English and at least 10 hours per week.
Preferred background
• dbt or a similar transformation system.
• Dimensional or semantic modeling.
• Airflow, Dagster or other orchestration tools.
Location and eligibility

Availability
• Remote asynchronous work, minimum 10 hours weekly.
Pay and engagement
$63 • $105/hr
USD hourly compensation. The applicable rate and agreed work scope are confirmed before work begins.
