Senior Mechanical and Hardware Design Engineer
Job Description
Develop expert design problems and reference answers that test engineering judgment in mechanical and hardware systems.
What you will do
• Create realistic CAD, RTL/HDL or robotics design scenarios.
• Write defensible solutions and evaluation criteria.
• Assess AI answers for correctness, technical depth and the quality of the design judgment.
Required background
• A bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of mechanical or hardware-design experience.
• Current or recent hands-on work in the discipline.
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly in writing and work independently at a distance.
Preferred background
• PE licensure or a master’s degree.
• Publications, open-source work or recognized technical output.
• Experience reviewing designs or assessing other technical work.
• Depth in CAD, RTL/HDL or robotics.
Availability
• Remote, asynchronous work with flexible hours.
Pay and engagement
$105–$179/hr
