Search Systems Practitioner Study
Job Description
IXO is inviting experienced practitioners to a paid research conversation about production search experience and the trade-offs behind agentic retrieval systems. Explain decisions from your own experience, the evidence behind them and the practical limits of the approach.
Work you will do
• Discuss the search systems you have worked on and how you assess retrieval quality in practice.
• Explain difficult design choices, evaluation failures and operational lessons using examples you have permission to share.
• Take part in a focused paid live conversation about your expertise; no ongoing coding assignment is implied by this engagement.
Required background and routes
• Firsthand responsibility for a production search system, especially agentic search, including retrieval/relevance decisions, evaluation of improvements or supporting data infrastructure.
• Explain practical quality and scaling trade-offs from work you are permitted to discuss.
Deliverables
A completed practitioner conversation with concrete, authorized examples and clear explanations of the trade-offs.
Location and schedule
The paid conversation is planned for approximately 30 minutes. It is a one-time study contribution; application screening is separate.
Pay and working terms
$210/conversation USD. This is the fee for the completed paid conversation, not an hourly engineering rate. Scope and the exact fee are agreed in advance. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
