San Francisco Robotic Manipulation Data Trainer
Job Description
Your work at IXO
Collect physical manipulation demonstrations for robotics learning at an on-site San Francisco workspace. You will use a handheld UMI gripper to perform repeatable object-handling tasks and verify the recorded result.
Responsibilities
• Pick up objects, open containers and complete specified household-style actions across different setups.
• Follow the written movement and capture protocol precisely so demonstrations can be compared reliably.
• Reset the physical environment between attempts and check each recording before continuing.
• Identify hardware faults, unclear instructions or compromised data and explain the problem promptly.
• Maintain accuracy through repeated hands-on activity and record useful observations or process improvements.
Working profile
This engagement requires on-site participation in San Francisco. It cannot be performed through remote video review. Manual dexterity, precise object handling, reliable attendance and sustained attention are important.
Preferred experience includes work requiring fine motor control, consistent execution and personal accountability. Practical backgrounds such as warehouse or operations work, gaming, gig work or student projects can be relevant. Earlier robotics or AI employment is not required, and current student status is not a requirement.
You should be comfortable with repeated physical tasks, able to follow detailed instructions, and willing to learn a basic hardware interface. Clear written and spoken reporting matters when a small setup change affects recording quality.
Deliverables and pay
Outputs are correctly executed demonstrations, checked data submissions and documented equipment or protocol issues. IXO will confirm the site, task schedule, equipment access and safety instructions before work begins; no third-party facility or hardware shipment is promised.
Pay is $15 • $35/hr in USD for agreed labor time.
