Real Estate Investment Model & Peer Review Associate
Job Description
IXO is seeking U.S.-based real-estate private-equity associates for a paid remote transaction-modeling assignment. The work tests both the ability to develop an independent financial model from deal evidence and the judgment needed to review another practitioner's model systematically.
What you will produce
Use a synthetic transaction document pack to build a working model for the assigned real-estate investment. There is no supplied model template: you will determine the workbook structure and translate the evidence into calculations. Submit an editable Excel workbook with active formulas, references to the source documents and clearly stated assumptions.
The second part of the assignment is peer review. You will assess two anonymized models produced by other participants for the same transaction. Apply the provided criteria, complete a scorecard for each model and write a brief rationale explaining the assessment. The expected work therefore combines one independently constructed workbook with two documented reviews.
Experience required
You must have two to four years of total experience, with around two years in investment banking followed by one to two years in private equity. Your banking experience must be in real estate or industrials.
You must currently hold, or recently have held, an associate position at a real-estate-focused mid-market or upper-mid-market PE fund. Hands-on ability to construct financial models from source documents is essential. You must be able to work without a template and communicate fluently in English. Applicants must be based in the United States; the work is remote.
Compensation and planning
Compensation is $85 • $105/hr USD. Approximately 20–25 hours over 1.5–2 weeks is an indicative planning estimate. IXO will agree the actual work package, review requirements and schedule before acceptance. Neither that estimate nor completion of this project guarantees later assignments.
Work from the synthetic case materials and other explicitly authorized sources. Do not provide confidential employer models, investor information, live deal documents or proprietary financial details from prior transactions.
