Mechanical Simulation Engineer
Job Description
Create and verify mechanical-engineering tasks through analytical models, simulation and Python.
What you will do
• Translate physical systems and design requirements into models.
• Prepare geometry, meshes, material properties, loads, contacts and constraints.
• Perform structural, thermal, dynamic, fatigue, buckling or vibration analysis.
• Automate preparation, simulation, sweeps, optimization and verification in Python.
• Check that results meet physical and design constraints.
Required background
• Qualify with a mechanical-engineering or closely related MS/PhD, or with a mechanical-engineering BS and at least one to two years of relevant design, analysis, simulation, testing or R&D.
• Strong applied-mechanics and mechanical-engineering fundamentals.
• Experience developing analytical or simulation-based solutions.
• Practical Python proficiency and coding-agent experience.
Preferred background
• Suitable tools include CalculiX, Gmsh, Elmer, FEniCSx, CadQuery, OpenSCAD and OpenFOAM; comparable programmatic tools are acceptable.
• Useful Python tools include NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter, meshing/CAD APIs and optimization libraries; no individual library is mandatory.
