Materials Engineering Specialist
Job Description
Create materials-selection and failure-analysis cases that test the link between material structure and performance.
What you will do
• Develop cases from material selection to failure investigation.
• Explain structure–property relationships and the reasoning behind recommended materials.
• Assess technical accuracy and service feasibility, identifying recommendations likely to fail in use.
Required background
• A materials-science/engineering degree or a closely related qualification.
• At least two years of materials engineering or R&D.
• Depth in a material family such as metals, polymers, ceramics or semiconductors.
• Clear written English and at least 10 hours of weekly availability.
Preferred background
• An advanced degree or peer-reviewed work.
• Characterization experience such as SEM, XRD or DSC.
• Failure investigation or process-qualification practice.
Availability
• Remote and asynchronous; at least 10 hours of availability each week, with working times arranged independently.
Pay and engagement
$105–$137/hr
