As a Materials Science Expert, you will be instrumental in training AI to understand the intricate relationship between material structure, properties, and processing, from atomic-scale phenomena to bulk applications.

Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI-generated content on crystallography, defects in solids, phase transformations, and mechanical properties of materials.
Assess AI's understanding of nanotechnology, including synthesis, characterization, and applications of nanomaterials (e.g., quantum dots, carbon nanotubes).
Provide expert feedback on semiconductor physics, device fabrication, and the properties of electronic materials.
Review and correct AI outputs related to polymer science, ceramics, metallurgy, and composite materials.
Create detailed explanations for materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS) and their interpretation.
Formulate challenging problems that require AI to design materials with specific properties or troubleshoot material failures.
Ideal Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Solid State Physics, or a closely related field.
Comprehensive understanding across crystallography, thermodynamics of materials, mechanical properties, and electronic materials.
Experience with materials characterization techniques, computational materials science (e.g., DFT, molecular dynamics), or experimental materials synthesis.
Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts and engineering applications related to materials.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to scientific accuracy.
Familiarity with materials databases (e.g., Materials Project, OQMD) is a plus.
