Manufacturing Quality and Source Inspector
Job Description
Evaluate inspection evidence and explain defensible acceptance decisions in regulated manufacturing.
What you will do
• Assess AS9102 first-article inspections and cosmetic-defect dispositions.
• Review hull and marine-structure evidence through documentation-based surveys.
• Analyze production-line and web-inspection data for quality patterns.
• Apply DCMA and FAR Part 46 source-inspection principles to scenarios.
• Write inspection reports and explain the evidence supporting each decision.
Required background
• Ability to make and communicate technically supported inspection judgments.
Preferred background
• At least eight years making complex first-article, cosmetic or production-inspection decisions.
• AS9102 expertise and practical knowledge of DCMA and FAR Part 46.
• US defense/aerospace manufacturing or regulated marine-survey experience.
• Knowledge of hull and marine-survey methods.
• Strong reporting, digital documentation and remote-collaboration skills.
• Senior QA, supplier-quality, DCMA QAR or marine-surveyor experience.
Availability
• Remote work; agree the assignment schedule before starting.
Pay and engagement
$63–$105/hr
