Licensed Electrical Practice Assessment Specialist
Job Description
IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate electrical troubleshooting advice that respects the code and job-site safety. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.
Work you will do
• Develop written scenarios from observed symptoms through diagnosis and the appropriate corrective approach.
• Explain the reasoning behind protection, conductor, circuit or installation decisions using the relevant NEC provisions.
• Evaluate answers for safety and code compliance, identifying advice that would create a hazard or fail inspection. This is remote knowledge work, not field installation.
Required background and routes
• An active journeyman/master electrician licence in a US jurisdiction, at least two field years after apprenticeship and practical command of the NEC.
• Explain diagnostic and code reasoning clearly in writing; this is remote knowledge/evaluation work, not an offer of electrical installation services.
Preferred background
• Master/contractor credentials, commercial or industrial systems, estimating, inspections or apprentice instruction.
Deliverables
Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.
Location and schedule
US professional practice and the stated jurisdictional credential apply. Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 10 hours per week depending on the track. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.
Pay and working terms
$55 • $95/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
