Key Responsibilities
Localize AI-generated content (e.g., chatbot responses, marketing text, technical documentation) from English into natural, culturally appropriate Japanese.
Adapt tone, formality levels, and honorifics (keigo) to suit specific contexts and target audiences within Japan.
Review and edit AI outputs for grammatical accuracy, stylistic consistency, and adherence to Japanese linguistic conventions.
Ensure accurate adaptation of technical terminology, industry-specific jargon, and cultural references.
Provide detailed linguistic and cultural feedback to AI models, highlighting areas for improvement in Japanese generation.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Japanese style guides, glossaries, and localization best practices.
Ideal Qualifications
Native fluency in Japanese with an exceptional understanding of its cultural nuances, social etiquette, and linguistic registers.
Extensive professional experience in Japanese localization, translation, transcreation, or content writing.
Deep knowledge of keigo (honorific language) and its appropriate application in various contexts.
Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) and localization platforms.
Strong analytical skills for identifying subtle cultural mismatches and linguistic inaccuracies.
Ability to work autonomously and consistently meet high-quality standards.
