Mastering Japanese goes far beyond vocabulary; it requires a deep understanding of Kanji, intricate honorifics (keigo), and profound cultural context. As a Japanese Language Expert, you will be indispensable in guiding AI to produce Japanese content that is not just grammatically correct, but also culturally appropriate, respectful, and perfectly natural for native speakers.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI-generated Japanese content for correct Kanji usage, appropriate furigana, and accurate kana script.
Assess AI's application of keigo (honorifics) based on context, social hierarchy, and politeness levels.
Provide detailed feedback on AI's understanding of Japanese grammar, particles, sentence structure, and natural conversational flow.
Evaluate linguistic data, focusing on cultural nuances, idiomatic expressions, and subtle implications in communication.
Identify and correct errors in AI's handling of Japanese pragmatics, regional dialects, and common phrases.
Contribute examples of authentic, high-quality Japanese usage to improve AI's generative capabilities.
Ideal Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Japanese (JLPT N1 equivalent or higher).
Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Japanese Studies, Translation, or a related field is preferred.
Profound understanding of Japanese grammar, Kanji, and various levels of keigo.
Proven experience in translation, localization, editing, or content creation in Japanese.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to articulate complex linguistic and cultural feedback.
Familiarity with Japanese input methods and character encoding.
