Public Interest and Civil Rights Legal Evaluation
Job Description
Develop public-interest and civil-rights legal scenarios grounded in the appropriate jurisdiction. Review legal research, advocacy strategies and written analyses, identify unsupported or misleading arguments and explain how the facts, procedural setting and applicable protections shape a defensible answer.
Practice scope
Choose the jurisdictional track you know: US public-interest/civil-rights/environmental practice, or international human-rights/EU practice. These are alternatives, not cumulative specialisms.
Professional background
For the public-interest profile, bring at least five years in legal aid, an advocacy organization or public service, with responsibility for impact litigation, regulatory advocacy or legislative/policy change. You should know the practical tools and procedures used in that work. A JD with bar admission or comparable international credential is strongly preferred; policy, training or rubric authorship is helpful.
The civil-rights profile favors a bar-admitted JD with substantial relevant practice, particularly complex work in a major law firm. Strong legal research, case analysis and statutory interpretation are important, along with explaining legal issues to nonlawyers. Cross-disciplinary work and an interest in technology, AI and public policy are advantages. Jurisdiction-specific experience determines the matters reviewed.
Working arrangements
This is remote, paid IXO expert work. Agree the specific task brief, permitted materials, outputs and working schedule with IXO before starting. Any commitment or duration described in a practice profile is an indicative planning requirement for that route, subject to that agreement.
Pay
$150 • $410/hr USD. The applicable rate is agreed for the work and professional track before you begin.
