Job Description
Protecting intellectual property is paramount in the innovation economy, and AI's capacity to assist in this complex domain requires expert validation. Your specialized knowledge in patent, trademark, and copyright law will be critical in evaluating and refining AI models, ensuring they provide accurate and actionable insights for IP protection and strategy. This role is vital for developing AI that safeguards innovation globally.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI outputs related to patentability assessments, trademark clearance, copyright infringement analysis, and trade secret protection for legal accuracy and strategic soundness.
Design complex IP scenarios and prompts to test AI's understanding of novelty, non-obviousness, distinctiveness, and fair use principles.
Identify instances where AI misinterprets IP statutes, fails to identify relevant case law, or provides inadequate advice on IP strategy.
Evaluate patent claims, trademark applications, copyright registrations, and IP licensing agreements with expert insights.
Provide detailed feedback on AI's ability to synthesize technical and legal information, identify IP risks, and propose effective protection strategies.
Ideal Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of 4• years of experience specializing in intellectual property law (patent, trademark, copyright, or trade secrets).
For patent roles, USPTO registration is highly preferred, along with a technical background (e.g., engineering, computer science).
Deep expertise in IP statutes (e.g., Patent Act, Lanham Act, Copyright Act) and relevant case law.
Proven experience in IP prosecution, litigation, or transactional IP work.
Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate complex technical and legal documents.
