Job Description
As AI systems become globalized, their ability to navigate the complexities of international law is paramount for ethical and effective deployment. As an International Law Expert, you will be instrumental in training AI to comprehend the intricate web of treaties, customary law, and cross-border legal principles that govern global interactions, ensuring its outputs are universally applicable and legally sound.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI-generated analyses of major international treaties, conventions (e.g., UN Charter, Geneva Conventions), and their impact on state sovereignty.
Assess AI's understanding of public international law principles, including jus cogens, erga omnes obligations, and state responsibility.
Provide expert feedback on AI outputs related to international dispute resolution mechanisms (e.g., ICJ, ICC, PCA) and arbitration.
Develop training data illustrating comparative legal systems, including civil law, common law, and mixed jurisdictions.
Identify and correct inaccuracies in AI's interpretation of international humanitarian law, human rights law, and international criminal law.
Refine AI's capacity to analyze cross-border commercial transactions, international trade law (e.g., WTO agreements), and investment treaties.
Ideal Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent international law degree (e.g., LL.M. in International Law).
Minimum 7 years of experience in international law, either in academia, government, international organizations, or private practice.
Demonstrated expertise in public international law, treaty interpretation, and international dispute resolution.
Strong understanding of comparative legal systems and their practical applications.
Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin) is highly advantageous.
Experience with international legal research databases and scholarly resources.
