Industrial Field-Service Diagnostics Specialist
Job Description
Evaluate equipment troubleshooting and explain how technical evidence leads to a credible fault diagnosis.
What you will do
• Interpret wiring, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
• Diagnose equipment faults from service records, working within industrial machinery, building systems such as HVAC and elevators, transport equipment, utilities or telecommunications.
• Analyze PLC logic and controls to identify causes and corrective actions.
• Review relevant NFPA 70/79, ASME A17.1 and OSHA requirements.
• Write clear accounts of the diagnostic process and practical service recommendations.
Required background
• Ability to reason from equipment documentation and explain troubleshooting decisions.
Preferred background
• At least eight years of hands-on troubleshooting in relevant equipment domains.
• Advanced schematic and hydraulic/pneumatic-diagram reading.
• PLC programming, controls and fault-finding depth.
• Knowledge of applicable NFPA 70/79, ASME A17.1 and OSHA provisions.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication.
• Experience producing service reports or instructions.
Availability
• Remote work; agree the assignment schedule before starting.
Pay and engagement
$63–$116/hr
