Job Description
The elegance and precision of the French language demand meticulous attention to detail, especially when refining AI-generated translations. As a French Translation Reviewer, you will be the arbiter of quality, ensuring AI-produced French content is not only accurate but also stylistically refined, culturally appropriate, and indistinguishable from human translation.
Key Responsibilities
Review and meticulously edit AI-generated French translations, comparing them against source English content for accuracy, completeness, and fidelity.
Identify and correct grammatical errors, syntactic awkwardness, lexical inaccuracies, and stylistic inconsistencies in AI outputs.
Assess the cultural appropriateness and naturalness of the French translation, ensuring it resonates with the target audience (e.g., Canadian French vs. European French).
Provide detailed, actionable linguistic feedback to AI models, highlighting patterns of errors and suggesting improvements for future iterations.
Contribute to the refinement of translation memories, term bases, and style guides to enhance AI's French translation capabilities.
Perform quality assurance checks on large batches of translated content, ensuring adherence to project-specific guidelines and quality metrics.
Ideal Qualifications
Native fluency in French (preferably with experience in both European and Canadian French) and excellent command of English.
Extensive professional experience as a translator, editor, or reviewer of English-to-French content.
Deep understanding of French grammar, syntax, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances.
Proficiency with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource) and translation quality assurance software.
Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail for identifying subtle translation errors.
Ability to articulate complex linguistic feedback clearly and concisely.
