Personal Advice Careers Research Contributor
Job Description
IXO is inviting personal financial-advising practitioners to a paid occupation research study. The purpose is to understand the different forms this work takes through the independent judgments of people who have performed it. Participation consists of one written survey about the profession.
Your contribution
Describe the dimensions that meaningfully distinguish one personal-advising job from another. For each dimension, identify the categories or values that help explain those differences. Add brief explanations where a label or professional term needs context. Draw on what you have encountered in practice; outside research and preparatory analysis are unnecessary.
Responses should be in English and reflect your own experience. There is no preferred viewpoint that participants must endorse. The study seeks a useful description of occupational differences rather than agreement with a predetermined answer.
Who can participate
You need at least one year of hands-on personal-financial-advising work, with current or recent experience in the U.S. professional context. Your responsibilities must have included developing or communicating personalized financial recommendations for individuals or households. You should be able to explain the work from direct experience.
Institutional investing, investment banking, corporate finance or general banking experience alone does not establish eligibility when it has no personal-advice remit. A relevant certification may support your experience, but it does not substitute for that work history. The U.S. requirement concerns professional context; this listing does not add a separate residence restriction.
Participation and payment
Complete the eligibility application first. Following review, selected participants receive the full survey. Compensation is $55/study (one-time) USD after manual review confirms a complete, good-faith response. This is a fixed participation payment, not an hourly rate.
Approximately 15 minutes is an indicative planning estimate to confirm with IXO; the survey is untimed. Keep your answers general: omit names of clients, employers and other individuals, and do not disclose confidential financial information. Further research participation is not guaranteed.
