ESL Teacher
Job Description
Build language-learning exercises and evaluate whether AI explanations suit the learner’s proficiency. Explain instructional choices from early literacy through academic English.
What you will do
• Write ESL scenarios covering lesson planning, error correction and proficiency assessment.
• Develop reference answers with the teaching rationale made clear.
• Review output for language accuracy and suitability for the learner’s level.
• Identify explanations that are technically correct but confusing for an English learner.
Required background
• TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certification, or a state ESL teaching licence.
• At least two years of classroom or online ESL teaching.
• Practical depth in lesson design, correction and proficiency assessment.
• Clear written English and at least 10 hours of weekly availability.
Preferred background
• Experience across ages or proficiency levels.
• IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge exam preparation.
• Curriculum and teaching-material development.
Availability
• Remote and asynchronous; minimum 10 hours weekly.
Pay and engagement
$37 • $74/hr
All amounts are in USD. The rate, task scope and schedule are agreed before work begins.
