Electronics Quality Engineer
Job Description
Evaluate electronics inspection evidence, manufacturing defects and component reliability for AI reasoning exercises.
What you will do
• Review PCB CAM and Gerber data for manufacturability and quality.
• Assess board and harness workmanship against IPC 610/620 criteria.
• Analyze SMT defects and false calls from automated optical inspection.
• Evaluate counterfeit-part risk under AS6081.
• Interpret C-SAM and X-ray package/die inspections, including MIL-STD-883 concerns, and explain findings clearly.
Required background
• Practical ability to assess electronics quality and communicate the basis for technical conclusions.
Preferred background
• At least eight years in electronics QA, CAM or failure analysis across PCB assembly, harnesses or packaging.
• IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 expertise; CIS/CIT certification is particularly useful.
• Gerber and PCB CAM experience.
• SMT/AOI analysis, including false-call correction.
• Counterfeit-component screening under AS6081.
• C-SAM, X-ray and MIL-STD-883 experience.
• Strong technical reporting and verbal explanation skills.
• US location is preferred, rather than a mandatory residence condition.

Pay and engagement
$74–$126/hr
