Econometrics Researcher — AI Evaluation
Job Description
Develop empirical-economics problems and defensible reference solutions for IXO. The work examines whether AI can reason correctly about identification, data and model choice in realistic economic analysis.
What you will do
• Create exercises around causal questions, panel datasets, discrete-choice models or economic forecasting.
• Work through the analysis and explain why each step supports the result.
• Spot identification failures and modeling mistakes that may appear credible without specialist scrutiny.
Required background
• A master’s or doctorate in economics or a related quantitative social-science field.
• At least three years of full-time empirical research or analytical work, excluding internships and study.
• Hands-on causal-inference or econometric-modeling experience.
• Working capability in Stata, R or Python.
• Strong written English, clear analytical explanations and availability for at least 10 hours weekly.
Preferred background
• Experience with difference-in-differences, instrumental-variable methods, regression discontinuity, synthetic controls or time-series forecasting.
Location and eligibility
• For applied economists, econometricians and quantitative social scientists with the stated professional experience.
Availability
• Remote, asynchronous work with at least 10 hours available each week. Arrange your own working times; agree the volume of work before starting.
Pay and engagement
$121/hour
