Job Description
Managing credit risk is paramount for financial stability, requiring sophisticated modeling and deep analytical insight. As a Senior Credit Risk Modeler, you will be crucial in refining AI's ability to assess creditworthiness, predict defaults, and manage portfolio risk, transforming it into an indispensable tool for banks, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI-generated credit risk models, including PD (Probability of Default), LGD (Loss Given Default), and EAD (Exposure at Default) models.
Assess AI's comprehension of regulatory frameworks like Basel Accords (Basel II, III, IV) and their implications for capital adequacy.
Provide expert feedback on AI outputs related to portfolio risk management, concentration risk, and stress testing scenarios.
Identify and correct factual inaccuracies or methodological flaws in AI's interpretation of credit scoring, rating methodologies, and early warning indicators.
Refine AI's capacity to analyze various asset classes (e.g., corporate, retail, sovereign) for credit risk assessment.
Develop training data on IFRS 9/CECL accounting standards for expected credit losses and their impact on financial reporting.
Ideal Qualifications
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in credit risk modeling, validation, or management within a financial institution.
Expert proficiency in statistical modeling software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and database management.
Deep understanding of regulatory requirements for credit risk (e.g., Basel, CCAR, DFAST).
Proven experience in developing and implementing PD/LGD/EAD models for various portfolios.
FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or PRM (Professional Risk Manager) certification is highly desirable.
