Biostatistical Problem Author
Job Description
Create biostatistics exercises for IXO that test whether AI can make defensible analytical decisions. Develop problems from practical statistical work and supply complete solutions that explain the methods and assumptions.
What you will do
• Build realistic questions involving study design, time-to-event outcomes, dose-response relationships or statistical genetics.
• Provide a worked answer with the reasoning that connects each analytical step to the conclusion.
• Identify subtle methodological errors, including plausible-looking analyses that would fail a practitioner’s review.
Required background
• A master’s or doctorate in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, statistical genetics or pharmacometrics.
• At least three years of full-time statistical practice; time spent studying or in internships does not meet this threshold.
• Direct analytical experience with clinical, epidemiological or genetic datasets.
• Ability to carry out statistical analysis in R, SAS or Python.
• Clear written English and the ability to explain your analysis; availability for at least 10 hours a week.
Preferred background
• Experience with trial design, survival analysis, mixed-effects models, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling or genetic association analysis.
Location and eligibility
• Suitable for practicing biostatisticians, pharmacometricians and statistical geneticists.
• Clinical or wet-laboratory work alone is insufficient without a statistical role.
Availability
• Remote, asynchronous work with at least 10 hours available each week. Arrange your own working times; agree the volume of work before starting.
