AWS Architecture and Serverless Benchmark Reviewer
Job Description
IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate AWS infrastructure tasks whose configuration and tests reflect realistic behavior. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.
Work you will do
• Review serverless and infrastructure-as-code scenarios, including the resources, permissions and dependencies they require.
• Check CDK, SAM or relevant deployment definitions and local testing approaches for correctness and reproducibility.
• Evaluate operational, security and cost reasoning, and explain task or implementation defects with verifiable evidence.
• Evaluate broad AWS architecture, security, service integration and infrastructure review alongside serverless-specific audits.
Qualification routes
Qualify through the assessment route below or the additional specialist route. Each route has its own background and regional criteria; these routes are alternatives.
Assessment route requirements
• Three or more years building AWS applications that combine services such as S3, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB/Streams, EventBridge, SNS/SQS and Step Functions.
• Use SAM, CloudFormation or AWS CDK; assess event flow, IAM boundaries, retries and failure handling. Understand where LocalStack-style emulation differs from deployed AWS behavior.
Preferred background
• AWS Developer or Solutions Architect credentials; serverless observability, cost management, code review or task assessment.
Additional specialist route
The broader AWS route favors five or more production years across at least three service families, IAM/KMS/security and CDK/Terraform. An AWS Professional credential or equivalent experience is relevant; multi-account Control Tower/Landing Zone designs are useful.
Deliverables
Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.
Location and schedule
Assessment route eligibility: United States. Additional specialist route eligibility: USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia. Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 40 hours per week depending on the track. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.
Pay and working terms
$80 • $130/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
