Optics and Photonics Specialist
Job Description
Create optical-system problems and assess the physical reasoning behind computational solutions.
What you will do
• Develop realistic optics, photonics and electromagnetic scenarios.
• Write expert reference solutions and grading criteria.
• Review correctness, depth and practical domain judgment in submitted solutions.
Required background
• A bachelor’s, master’s or PhD qualification and 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on modeling or validation of optical, photonic, electromagnetic, RF or communication systems.
• Practical proficiency with optics or electromagnetic simulation software; examples include Zemax/Code V, Lumerical/RSoft, COMSOL, Ansys HFSS/CST and Meep/Tidy3D.
• Current or recent practical work and independent asynchronous capability.
Preferred background
• Publications, open-source contributions or recognized optics/photonics work.
• Experience evaluating research, code, teaching work or technical writing.
• Integrated photonics/PICs, metasurfaces, nanophotonics, antennas/RF, fiber communications or DSP/wireless-PHY expertise.
Availability
• Fully remote and asynchronous, with no set working hours or required meetings.
Pay and engagement
$105/hr
