Job Description
The opportunity
IXO is engaging US-based financial-crime practitioners to complete realistic analyst exercises and evaluate the reasoning behind them. Work uses mock case packets rather than live systems. Each output is a draft training or evaluation work product, assessed against explicit criteria.
Casework and deliverables
• Combine a transaction-monitoring alert with a customer KYC/CDD profile and transaction history, decide the disposition and prepare a draft suspicious-activity report narrative when the facts warrant it.
• Check onboarding files for completeness and conflicting information across documents, producing a discrepancy list and specific remediation requests.
• Trace multiple layers of beneficial ownership and apply the 10% or 25% ultimate-beneficial-owner threshold specified in the exercise.
• Classify sanctions and adverse-media results as a supported match, false positive or escalation, with a concise rationale for each decision.
• Prioritize supervisory alert queues, assess card-fraud and dispute cases, and compare flagged communications with the associated trading records.
Deliverables must show the evidence supporting the conclusion and distinguish facts from unresolved questions. Practical assessment examples include a timed alert-to-disposition and SAR exercise, a KYC remediation review, and a batch of sanctions decisions with reasons; IXO will confirm any assessment format before it is undertaken.
Required experience
At least three years of hands-on AML, KYC/CDD, sanctions, fraud/disputes or transaction-surveillance work at a bank, fintech, payments company or money-services business. You need working knowledge of FinCEN, FATF and OFAC frameworks and relevant SAR/CDD documentation standards, together with clear, defensible writing.
Preferred experience
CAMS/ACAMS or CFE; enhanced due diligence and complex entity analysis; SQL or transaction analytics; and fintech or payments experience are useful additional strengths, not universal requirements.
Engagement and pay
Remote US project work pays $80 • $120/hr USD. Around 15 hours weekly is an indicative planning assumption, with no fixed duration asserted.
