Addiction Medicine and Youth Substance-Use Evaluation
Job Description
Assess substance-use and addiction scenarios for sound diagnosis, risk assessment and treatment reasoning. The youth track covers adolescent screening, overdose or withdrawal concerns and age-appropriate medication decisions; explain the evidence and safeguards relevant to each case.
Professional background
The preferred profile includes three to five or more post-certification years working with adolescent substance use, through addiction medicine or a relevant child/adolescent mental-health specialty. Bring a current license in good standing and an adolescent caseload within two years. Know tools such as CRAFFT, S2BI, DSM-5 and ASAM criteria, plus under-18 withdrawal protocols and opioid-use-disorder medication approaches.
Preferred English is research-quality: native or comparable to IELTS 7.5 overall/7.0 writing, TOEFL 100+, or Cambridge C1–C2. Motivational interviewing, crisis/inpatient care and youth substance-use publications or guideline work are useful additions.
Working arrangements
This is remote, paid IXO expert work. Agree the specific task brief, permitted materials, outputs and working schedule with IXO before starting. Any commitment or duration described in a practice profile is an indicative planning requirement for that route, subject to that agreement.
Pay
$110 • $180/hr USD. The applicable rate is agreed for the work and professional track before you begin.
